At Red Rose Tree Services, we provide a full range of professional tree services across Yorkshire, including Barnsley. Each service, whether it’s pruning, stump grinding, tree felling, or emergency tree care, is carried out with safety, precision, and respect for your property.
Crown reduction involves reducing the overall size of a tree’s canopy by carefully cutting back branches. This helps to control the shape of the tree, reduce weight on heavy limbs, and prevent potential hazards, while still maintaining a natural appearance. Our insured and certified tree surgeons use the latest techniques to ensure safe and effective crown reduction.
Crown thinning is the selective removal of smaller branches to allow more light and air to pass through the canopy. This improves the health of the tree, reduces wind resistance, and can lessen the risk of storm damage. As local arborists serving Barnsley and South Yorkshire, we offer crown thinning as part of our professional tree services.
When a tree becomes unsafe, diseased, or needs to be removed for other reasons, tree felling is the solution. We carry this out safely and efficiently, even in confined spaces, using the right equipment and techniques to minimise risk. Our tree felling services include emergency tree call outs, highway tree works, and larger projects requiring mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) works.
After a tree has been felled, the stump can be unsightly or get in the way. Our stump grinding and tree stump removal services ensure it is taken out below ground level, leaving the area clear and ready to be reused for planting, paving, or lawn.
Pruning involves the careful removal of specific branches to encourage healthy growth, improve the tree’s structure, and maintain its appearance. This is essential for both young and mature trees to maintain long-term health. Our professional tree services include expert pruning to keep your outdoor spaces in Barnsley looking their best.
Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps trees at a manageable height by cutting back branches to the main trunk or framework. It’s often used in urban areas to control growth, prevent obstruction, and extend the life of the tree. Our experienced and insured tree surgeons can safely carry out pollarding as part of our tree maintenance services.
We supply quality logs that are cut, seasoned, and ready for use. Perfect for wood burners, stoves, or open fires, these logs provide a sustainable and cost-effective fuel source. Our timber and logs come from responsibly managed tree removal and pruning works.
As part of our work, we also provide timber for a variety of uses. From firewood to larger pieces for projects, we ensure the timber is responsibly sourced and prepared to meet your needs. Our tree felling and tree maintenance services help us recycle and repurpose wood sustainably.
At Red Rose Tree Services, we approach every project with the same commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality. Whether it’s reducing a crown, carrying out stump grinding, or responding to emergency tree call outs, our team takes pride in delivering reliable, professional tree services you can trust.

Did a lovely job on partially trimming an Ash Tree in our garden. Communicated was great - kept us up to date with a delay due to the weather and heavy snow. Did an excellent job and shredded all branches and tidied up very well after themselves.
Just a big thanks to Adam and the team. After posting the job, Adam contacted me and came out to quote in person and to check out any issues. I live in an unusual location near a watercourse. Tree was felled yesterday by the team. No issues at all. Even used biodegradable chain oil given the location. Polite, stuck to the quote. Cleared up afterwards. Thanks team. Highly recommend
Exceptional in all respects. Adam provided a very fair & keenly priced quote. He, and his assistant Gareth, were always very punctual/flexible, polite, good-humoured, respectful, really knowledgeable, and experienced as well as highly skilled and qualified. They did the job in cramped conditions to a really high standard. They tidied up and cleared their extensive rubbish so well that there was no evidence of them having done the job! An absolute pleasure to hire them. I have no hesitation in highly commending them to anyone.
Professional friendly service following a visit and quote. Adam wanted to do the best job and is committed to doing so. Great result and would recommend him without question
Adam came and assessed the job, gave me a price and was able to carry out the work really quickly to remove the unsafe branches and make good the rest of the tree.
From initial contact when Adam came to give a price for pruning a large willow tree with two fallen branches caused by high winds, Adam was professional and polite. We arranged a date for the work, then Adam phoned Thursday as they had a cancellation so they did the work today. He said they would be here at 8am; they arrived at 7.55am and got on with the work straight away. The tree is at the bottom of our garden right next to a busy dual carriageway so they had to know what they were doing. We were very happy with the work and have asked Adam to come back in the Spring to cut our hedge.
Asked for a quote and Red Rose acted very promptly in not only getting back to us but getting the job done too. The men were very professional and communicated very effectively regarding their service ensuring we were satisfied with their work. Would recommend highly. Thank you!
highly recommend, I gathered several quotes around the area. red rose tree service was by far the best price. quick booking, quick service and tidied up all the trimming mess. 10/10, will be continuing to use this service in the future for our conifer maintenance 🤟
Adam was here before he said which was brilliant. His price was the best by far. Great guys. Having them back in September to do the back garden.
Adam and his team did a fantastic job of removing a large sycamore tree in our garden which was extremely close to our two neighbours properties. They were super efficient from start to finish, from coming out to give us the quote, to completing the job. They took great care in their work and made the job look effortless. It was clear that they worked well as a team and left the place nice and tidy. We would definitely recommend Red Rose Tree Services
