My name is Adam, and I am a fully certified and insured tree surgeon based in Barnsley, providing professional tree services such as tree felling, pruning, and tree stump removal across most of Yorkshire. With over 12 years of experience in the industry, I take pride in delivering a service that is safe, reliable, and carried out to the highest professional standards.
I established Red Rose Tree Services in 2019 after years of working for others. I wanted the freedom to run a business my way, to offer a service I could be proud of, and to build a future for my family. Running a small, family-led business isn’t always easy.
It means long hours on site, managing quotes, and handling the paperwork, but it’s worth it. Every job we do, whether it’s emergency tree care, stump grinding, or regular tree maintenance, is carried out with dedication, care, and a genuine respect for the spaces we work in.
What sets us apart in South Yorkshire is our ability to handle complex crane work and mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) works, something very few, if any, other local arborists provide. This allows us to take on larger, more demanding projects such as highway tree works, emergency tree call outs, and tree removal efficiently and safely.
We believe that trust comes from transparency and professionalism. That’s why we ensure all our qualifications and certifications meet industry standards. We are fully NPTC City & Guilds certified and comprehensively insured for all aspects of our tree felling services.
Our key qualifications include:
Working as an insured and certified tree surgeon in Barnsley is more than just climbing trees or cutting branches - it’s about skill, resilience, and balance. With every project, whether it’s pruning or complete tree removal, we bring not only technical knowledge but also the commitment and values of a family-run business.
From inspections, health assessments, and advice through to complex removal, our tree surgeons deliver expertise for all your arboreal needs.
When a tree must come down, we carry out safe, controlled tree felling and removal — handling all rigging, sectioning, waste removal, and cleanup
We prune for health, shape, safety, and aesthetics. Regular maintenance helps avoid overgrowth, safety hazards, and structural issues.
From inspections, health assessments, and advice through to complex removal, our tree surgeons deliver expertise for all your arboreal needs.
Once a tree is felled, we offer stump grinding to below ground level, removing trip hazards and allowing you to plant or turf over the space.
Storm damage, fallen branches, or dangerous trees can’t wait. We respond rapidly to emergency tree issues, stabilise dangerous limbs, or remove hazards promptly.
From trimming back roadside trees to full removal, we specialise in work adjacent to highways, ensuring safety, visibility, and minimal impact on traffic.
Some jobs demand elevated access without climbing. Our MEWP capability lets us manoeuvre safely, quickly, and precisely where needed.
Behind the saws and ropes, what really matters is the support and motivation that keep this business running. The people who stand behind us remind us why we do this and keep everything moving when we’re out on the job.
For us, providing professional tree services in Barnsley is more than a career. It’s a commitment to hard work, family values, and helping others look after their outdoor spaces with the same care and pride that we give our own. Whether you need routine tree maintenance, tree stump removal, or emergency tree call outs, Red Rose Tree Services is here to help.
Did a lovely job on partially trimming an Ash Tree in our garden. Communicated was great - kept us up to date with a delay due to the weather and heavy snow. Did an excellent job and shredded all branches and tidied up very well after themselves.
Just a big thanks to Adam and the team. After posting the job, Adam contacted me and came out to quote in person and to check out any issues. I live in an unusual location near a watercourse. Tree was felled yesterday by the team. No issues at all. Even used biodegradable chain oil given the location. Polite, stuck to the quote. Cleared up afterwards. Thanks team. Highly recommend
Exceptional in all respects. Adam provided a very fair & keenly priced quote. He, and his assistant Gareth, were always very punctual/flexible, polite, good-humoured, respectful, really knowledgeable, and experienced as well as highly skilled and qualified. They did the job in cramped conditions to a really high standard. They tidied up and cleared their extensive rubbish so well that there was no evidence of them having done the job! An absolute pleasure to hire them. I have no hesitation in highly commending them to anyone.
Professional friendly service following a visit and quote. Adam wanted to do the best job and is committed to doing so. Great result and would recommend him without question
Adam came and assessed the job, gave me a price and was able to carry out the work really quickly to remove the unsafe branches and make good the rest of the tree.
From initial contact when Adam came to give a price for pruning a large willow tree with two fallen branches caused by high winds, Adam was professional and polite. We arranged a date for the work, then Adam phoned Thursday as they had a cancellation so they did the work today. He said they would be here at 8am; they arrived at 7.55am and got on with the work straight away. The tree is at the bottom of our garden right next to a busy dual carriageway so they had to know what they were doing. We were very happy with the work and have asked Adam to come back in the Spring to cut our hedge.
Asked for a quote and Red Rose acted very promptly in not only getting back to us but getting the job done too. The men were very professional and communicated very effectively regarding their service ensuring we were satisfied with their work. Would recommend highly. Thank you!
highly recommend, I gathered several quotes around the area. red rose tree service was by far the best price. quick booking, quick service and tidied up all the trimming mess. 10/10, will be continuing to use this service in the future for our conifer maintenance 🤟
Adam was here before he said which was brilliant. His price was the best by far. Great guys. Having them back in September to do the back garden.
Adam and his team did a fantastic job of removing a large sycamore tree in our garden which was extremely close to our two neighbours properties. They were super efficient from start to finish, from coming out to give us the quote, to completing the job. They took great care in their work and made the job look effortless. It was clear that they worked well as a team and left the place nice and tidy. We would definitely recommend Red Rose Tree Services
